Menorca is a small piece of paradise within the western Mediterranean, a pearl bathed by calm seas and sheltered by a gentle climate. An unending range of colors melt into each other: blue skies, turquoise seas, dark green woods, brown rocks, white beaches.
Declared Biosphere Reserve, the island is a haven of peace; a place to find oneself, in which to listen to the silence
Menorca has a very rich and traditional rural countryside. It hosts a remarkable diversity of Mediterranean habitats in which rare animal species and plants live, some of them in threat of extinction.
Time in Menorca has a different meaning: it has its own pace,, in harmony with the setting. It has been so long before the term was coined, relating as it does to the way of life here, asserting the island’s philosophy.

Horses are the common factor in all the local fiestas on Menorca, they are held throughout the summer months and are a perfect showcase for the longstanding island traditions.
The first major date on the calendar is in June, with the famous Sant Joan fiestas in Ciutadella which attract visitors from near and far.
The final fiestas of the summer are in September, these are the Sant Nicolau fiestas in Es Mercadal which are held immediately after the Virgen de Gracia fiestas in Maó.
Years ago Menorca had a beautiful coastal path that went right round the island, crossing remote bays, gullies, woods and fields. It was known as the Camí de Cavalls (Bridle Path), and used by the British soldiers on horseback to guard the coast when they occupied Menorca. This wonderful circuit has been lovingly restored and signposted so that nowadays everyone can enjoy it. It is well worth walking right round the island over a few days (although you are not allowed to camp on the beaches), or do it in stages. One way or the other, it is a remarkable way to truly appreciate both the countryside and the coastline.
Menorca most important resource is its natural beauty.
